Catalog - Joomla Template and WordPress Theme Documentation

Catalog is a business theme for Joomla and WordPress. It was designed for showing products catalog with beautiful products listing which support sorting by category and Ajax search. It has a beautiful product details page for showing images with carousel, price, product based contact form, tabs for showing description, specifications and any other info.

Required Atoms

Atoms are Particles that do not appear visually on the front end, but do serve an important purpose. They can be assigned on a per-page basis, or as a default which automatically applies to all of the pages on the site.

How to add and Configure Atoms

  1. Go to Gantry Admin
  2. Switch to Base Outline

  3. Click on Page Settings
  4. Scroll to bottom and you will see Atoms area.

    From the RcaTheme Elements Atom, you could enable/disable theme features such as: ToTop, Fixed Header, Cookie Consent, Extra Typography etc.

Using Icons
  1. Material Icons
    1. Go to https://material.io/icons
    2. Click on your desired icon and copy the code. For example - <i class="material-icons">sentiment_satisfied</i> for sentiment_satisfied and paste on your Particle, Joomla article and module editor by switching Code editor (HTML).
  2. FontAwesome Icons
    1. Go to http://fontawesome.io/icons
    2. Click on your desired icon and copy the code. For example - <i class="fa fa-smile-o"></i> for and paste on your Particle, Joomla article and module editor by switching Code editor (HTML).
  3. Flat Icons
    1. In this theme, we have used some Flaticon, you could see available icons here.
    2. However, you could create your own Font icons from Flaticon.
Adding Custom SCSS/CSS or Overriding Styles with SCSS/CSS Adding/Editing Theme's contents and particles
Editing Header, Footer and other Global contents

We recommend to add/edit Header, Footer and other global (contents will show on all pages) contents using Base Outline.

  1. Go to Gantry Admin
  2. Click on Layout tab
  3. You could find all theme's default global contents here. Now edit existing particles and customize with your contents.

Home Page

If you installed Quickstart package or Theme's Sample Data during installation, you could see Page - Home outline is created and assigned to your Home page by default.

However, you could create the Home page outline with Sample data used on the demo, so you could start with modifications.

  1. Go to Gantry Admin
  2. Create a new Outline using Preset and select Page - Home(if not exist) from the Preset dropdown options. Read how to create a new page using theme's preset and follow step #5 instead of step #4.
  3. Edit the outline you just created, go to Assignments tab and assign this Outline to your Home page Menu item.
  4. Now go to Layout tab
  5. Now edit existing particles as you need. All existing particles are documentation inside, please follow them all.
Quick Contact Atom
  1. Go to Gantry Admin
  2. Switch to Base Outline if you want to show on all pages. If you want to show on specific page, then select specific Outline.
  3. Click on Page Settings Tab
  4. Scroll down to Atoms and add Quick Contact if already not exist.
  5. Now read documentation inside this particle and customize as you need.
Attorneys Listing Page
  1. Go to Gantry Admin
  2. Create a new Outline using Preset and select Page - Attorneys Listing from the Preset dropdown options. Read how to create a new page using theme's preset and follow step #5 instead of step #4.
  3. Edit the outline you just created, go to Assignments tab and assign this Outline to a Menu item.
  4. Now go to Layout tab
  5. Now edit existing particles as you need. All existing particles are documentation inside, please follow them all.
Attorney Details Page
  1. Go to Gantry Admin
  2. Create a new Outline using Preset and select Page - Attorney Details from the Preset dropdown options. Read how to create a new page using theme's preset and follow step #5 instead of step #4.
  3. Edit the outline you just created, go to Assignments tab and assign this Outline to a Menu item.
  4. Now go to Layout tab
  5. Now edit existing particles as you need. All existing particles are documentation inside, please follow them all.
  6. Create Catalog Details page for all your Catalogs listed on the Catalogs Listing page by following above steps.
Creating Other Pages

You could create as much as custom pages as you need by follow same steps described on above Home Page section. All demo pages available as Preset on the Outline creating options, so you could load demo contents with one click and start editing with your contents and images.

Setup Blog in Joomla
  1. Read Setup Blog in Joomla with RcaTheme Post Plugin
  2. Search module:
    1. Go to Extensions -> Modules
    2. Click on New button to create new module
    3. Select a Module Type: Search
    4. Show Title: Show
    5. Position: aside
    6. Menu Assignment: [blog menu item]

    2. Click on New button to create new module
    3. Select a Module Type: Login
    4. Show Title: Show

Setup Blog in WordPress

There is no extra settings needed for your Posts/Blog page in WordPress. Your posts will show based on your layout setup on Base Outline.

  1. Blog Content Options:
    1. Go to Gantry Admin
    2. Click on Content tab
    3. Now see available options and Enable/Disable as you need.
  2. Sidebar widgets: Read how to add Widgets and Particles on sidebar or any other positon
  3. Search:
    1. Position: aside
    2. Widget: Search
  4. Login Form:
    1. Position: aside
    2. Widget: Gantry 5 Particle
    3. Pick a Particle: Login Form; then follow on screen instructions.
  5. Latest Posts:
    1. Position: aside
    2. Widget: Gantry 5 Particle
    3. Pick a Particle: Mini Posts; then follow on screen instructions.
  6. Tags:
    1. Position: aside
    2. Widget: Tag Cloud
  7. Subscribe:
    1. Position: aside

Customizing 404 Error Page

404 error page will get configurations from Base outline, however you could add more information or customize 404 page by following -

  2. Switch to Error

After done configuration and customization,
